great tips, I've got a polariser and an ND, so will give it a go, PS the 2.8 thing with aperture ONLY applies to digital 135 slr's, Medium format (Hasselblads) live at 2.8/2.2! thats their 'wide open' and LF is at 5.6 or 8! and then scheimpflug can take over, and create a selective focus, a Tilt shift lens on the others works as well; but! a tip, the wider you go with lens selection (or up a format) the more flare will come biting like a crocodile!, so stay away from wide open at noon, I've used hasselblads in EV 16/17 light with 3x ND's (asa 100/200!) @ f11\1/250th OR f16@1/500th to keep glare to a minimum, it WORKS fine, I've still got highlights, just not eye blinding ones.

.. Fab Post ! Have likely ‘deployed or ‘resorted to most of these over th last 1/2 century & still do thanks ! A most refreshing read & ‘positive - solutions oriented ‘bag of tricks ! Here n there i suggest people ‘think like a cinematographer too - ‘envision the ‘setting as a brief ‘Scenario - How would they ‘Solve or ‘Motivate - the ‘Light or Lighting.. ‘Lack Of or ‘Over Abundance..

fyi too ! One ‘Pet Peeve’ is most likely - those who espouse B & W over Colour for personal reasons or certain Level of Colour Blindness.. approx 10% of males.. If nothing about the capture ‘validates - why Black & White at all ! Then why all the explanations, details & Camera / Film / Digital / Brand & at times.. In 50 years - no Clients or Artists ever requested B & W docu

I like that you mention stacking Polarizer & UV filter.. a quarter inch of glass in front of that Very Expensive Pristine Glass .. a Technique which kinda ‘dispels much of the ‘myth & mystery of Elite Sharpness Levels - Recognizing the Lowest Common Denominator in one’s Photo Process & End Result - is important to me.. (especially if I’m the Lowest Common Denominator !)

I sought out the ‘Softest Cheapest Zoom Lenses for the Canon 5D MK 2’s we shot Video with to ‘MINIMIZE Sharpness & dreadful ‘moire - my understanding is the prob was a flawed Conversion Encoding to Video

Another ‘peeve is substack Posts & Snapshots including & explaining .. ‘personal information, their faith in a god or adoration of, or their various addiction(s) or affliction(s) compulsion or obsession, insecurities .. eeow !
