If you’ve subscribed to my newsletter for a while, you know that I mainly write about three things:
I write about specific types of photography, such as zoo, macro, or street photography.
I often showcase a photographer. Recently, I showcased the work of Andreas Gursky, Thomas Hoepker, and Todd Hido.
I like to write about themes in photography. In the past, I’ve written about themes or topics in photography such as New Topographics, Deadpan Portrait, and Dérive in photography.
Yesterday, I sat down to write my newsletter and couldn’t think of anything to write about. Can you help me out by giving me some suggestions? What you suggest doesn’t have to fall under any of the three categories I listed above. If there is anything about photography you’d like me to write about, let me know by clicking the button below to leave a comment. If that doesn’t work, you can reply to this email, and I’ll receive your response.
Thank you!
How about taking what you consider your most notable images from the past year (I'm thinking one each of portrait, landscape and street) and applying some objective analysis to them (as objective as you can be about personal work)? It's something all of us should do more of and I'm sure we'd all like to read what you'd have to offer.
Digital Art and Nature Photography. How much processing is too much? We have purists who won't punch the vibrance slider in Lightroom just a tad to give that Great Blue Heron just a little color and those who occasionally create instant bokeh with things like the Adamski Effect or Blur in Lightroom. Maybe contrast professional photographers on one side or the other?
